It’s almost like Christmas morning when I have new work in a slowly cooling kiln. There is waiting and hoping and a whole lot of impatient fretting (“is it time yet? how about now?”). The two temperatures to remember are 450 degrees and 300 degrees. At 450 I can crack open the kiln and peer through the 2″ gap at the work on the top shelf and at 300 I open up the kiln and get to start actually looking at stuff.
Yesterday’s fun “present/surprise” was taking the Steampunk themed cups I was working on last week out of the kiln. I’m really happy with how they turned out! 🙂
